The last league meeting between these sides was a humdinger. Garforth leading 3-2 on 88 minutes, but falling to two late goals.
This didn't live up to that classic, but still had plenty of drama.

With James Burgess and Joe Smith getting game time for Barton Town, and new signing Harry Colville unavailable, U18 forward Daniel Ramsden was draughted into the squad.

Luis Adlard nodded Borough into a deserved first half lead (credit to Adam drury for a pinpoint through ball). But a Scott Fenwick dismissal midway through the second half gave Garforth the impetus to come from behind and win the game.

Matt Antcliff finished off a patient passing move on seventy seven minutes and two minutes later Charlie Marshall beat the offside trap and then the keeper.

Substitute Sam Cable dealt another sucker punch three minutes into injury time, as Garforth mounted another break. With substitute Ramsden alongside him, he opted to go it alone. Liam Higton saved his initial shot, but Cable tucked the ball away at the second attempt.

A frustrated wild lunge by Grimsbys’ Jack Barlow on man of the match Rinor Ejupi deep into injury time earned him the honour of second place in the showers.

The result earned the Miners back to back league wins for the first time this season and was a welcome reward for the great number of supporters that travelled to the game.
