Pontefract and Garforth shared the spoils in an end to end local derby, the first league meeting between the teams for seven years.
Garforth bossed the first half and deservedly took the lead through Mo Fadera on twelve minutes.
The young forward cut in from the left and shot beyond the keepers right hand
Pontefract found a way back into the game when Jack Boyle capitalised on a defensive mix up and prodded the ball home in the fifty third minute.
A moment of controversy looked to have turned the game on its' head.
Jamie Barkways outstretched foot prodded the ball away from an attacker and Flatters collected the loose ball.
This was judged to be a back pass, earning the Colls a free kick inside the Garforth area.
The ball was nudged to Boyle, who lashed it into the bottom corner.
Garforth heads didn't drop though, and they were back on level terms on eighty three minutes, through Jamie Barkway.
The centre back seemed to be in the middle of everything and was enemy number one for home fans, but he had the last say, bundling in following a game of pinball in the Ponte box.
Garforth are next in action on Bank Holiday Monday, when Carlton Town are the visitors for a 3pm kick off.
