A Garforth win tonight would be a good end to a not-so-good month. They have yet to register a win in September, after an unbeaten August.
They have turned a corner of sorts, with three draws from their last three games, but these have all been from squandered leads.
Stocksbridge find themselves in the bottom three in the table going into this game. A distinct lack of goals seems to be the route of their problems. Charlie Oglesby was the last Steels player to score. This was in their only win of the season, against Grimsby Town, two weeks ago. They've drawn a blank in the three games they've had since then.
Paul Marshall will have surprised a few people with his team selection at unbeaten Bradford Park Avenue at the weekend, starting the game with his two recognised strikers on the bench. But the Miners came away with an excellent point. Oli Patrick the scorer and Harry Flatters pulled off a penalty save.
The last meeting between the sides was back in January 2025 and finished in a 0-0 draw. A repeat of that result wouldn't please either team tonight.
