It’s back to NPL action this Tuesday, as the Miners look to put any disappointment from Saturday's defeat behind them.
This fixture was due to kick off the league season for Garforth back in August, but it was scuppered when they took part in an FA Cup replay at West Didsbury & Chorlton.
It’s been a whirlwind few years for the Beavers, who are playing at the highest position in their history. The club were participating in the Humber Premier League just four years ago. In that time, they’ve gained three promotions and won the NCEL League Cup.
They arrived in the NPL by the same route as Garforth, by winning the NCEL Premier Division playoffs.
Garforth are still unbeaten in the league this season and have won their last two league games without conceding. Hopefully a bad day at the office against FC United at the weekend will have a positive effect on them on Tuesday night.
Positives to take from that game are that Dan Coupland and Luke Aldrich got more game time under their belts, and Town picked their heads up to play an excellent second half.
Expect a few changes for this one, as Paul Marshall may choose to tweak his starting eleven for the league match. Joe Allerton is nearing fitness, having been ruled out since almost the start of the season, although this game may come too soon for him to make a return to the squad.
Beverley currently sit 19th in the NPL East, but having played only three games (half of some clubs around them) they won’t be pressing the panic button yet.
Their one win (a home victory over Ossett United), bookended by narrow defeats to league leaders Liversedge, and North Ferriby.
A huge boost for the Beavers will be the imminent return of McCauley Snelgrove following a brief spell in Australia. They will be looking to him to add to his record of 42 goals in 96 games, including last seasons’ playoff semi-final winner.
Kick off at the BD Community Stadium is 7.45pm
