A tough test awaits the Miners on Tuesday, as Belper Town visit the Bannister Prentice Stadium (preview by Robert Osborne)

Another midweek clash is in store for Garforth with what should prove to be a challenge from high-flying visitors Belper Town. Both teams head into Tuesday in fine form: the Miners claiming six wins from their last nine in all competitions, however the Nailers seem untouchable recently with five consecutive league victories. The encounter is a litmus test for Paul Marshall's side on how well they can battle against one of the best squads in the division.

Belper currently sit 2nd in the NPL East table while only being behind league leaders Cleethorpes Town on goal difference. In addition to their winning streak, they have managed to keep clean sheets in their last three matches. Last Saturday saw the Derbyshire side comfortably beat Grimsby Borough 2-0 with NPL East top scorer Harry Draper bagging a brace to take his season total to 12 goals.

The Nailers haven't faced Garforth since 2008 in the FA Trophy, when the Miners were 2-0 victors; a case of history repeating itself would be welcome on Tuesday. In more recent times, Belper narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season after relegation from the NPL Premier Division the year prior, although they currently appear likely to place around the top in this campaign.

Boss Lee Attenborough introduced two new signings into the fray on Saturday: experienced defender Louis Keenan (arriving from Leek Town) started the game and put in a solid performance to begin his second spell at the club, and winger Terry Atem (from Belper United) featured off the bench and provided exciting pace and power. Both seem probable to get minutes against Garforth this week and will strive to impress in an already strong side.

Impressive form isn't exclusive to Tuesday's opponents however, as the Miners have adjusted superbly to life in Step 4 football so far this season. Manager Paul Marshall said ahead of the fixture, "We've got to step up and try our hardest in every game. It'll be a tough game, no two ways about it." A deserved 1-0 win on Saturday against Sherwood Colliery provided the great home support with a long-awaited match at the Bannister Prentice Stadium.

Looking ahead to the Nailers, no known injury concerns should force any changes, but the relentless fixture congestion could be a factor in altering the starting 11. You'd anticipate a difficult test waits for Garforth, nevertheless the Miners have definitely proved to be determined, creative and hard to beat - a potential upset may be on the cards.
