The second half was an equally tight affair, with Pontefract having the lion's share of the ball, without threatening Harry Flatters in the Garforth goal.
Miners substitute Mutty brought a much needed spark to their attack and it was Pontefract who looked more likely to concede in the final throes, but a draw was a fair result.
