Paul Marshall's side will look to put a few lean years in the Emirates FA Cup behind them when we travel up the A1 to face Northern League side Whitley Bay. This Extra Preliminary Round tie, to be played on Saturday 5th August (kick-off 3pm), gives Town a chance for revenge after The Seahorses won 3-0 on Cedar Ridge in the same competition back in September 2020. Another long journey awaits should we prevail, with Whickham or Carlisle City our hosts in the Preliminary Round on Saturday 19th August.

In the Isuzu FA Vase, we've been drawn another Northern League side in West Allotment Celtic, who we'll entertain on Saturday 26th August (kick-off 3pm) in the First Qualifying Round. There's been one previous meeting between the two sides, way back in December 1986 at Brierlands Lane in the same competition, which The Miners won 3-2. This was part of Paul Dooley's side's run to the Quarter Finals which remains one of the club's finest achievements. Back to the present day and another win over the Newcastle side would see us host North West Counties League outfit AFC Blackpool on Saturday 23rd September.
